Abstract
Commencing with the 1947/48 crop season, the Coffee Marketing Board has published annually crop production data for the whole of Kenya. Figures have been given for twenty separate districts in the Colony. Ten of the districts are situated geographically East of the Rift Valley and comprise a total coffee area of about 47,532 acres; nine are situated West of the Rift Valley where the total coffee area is about 10,071 acres, and one refers to coffee growing within the Rift Valley, a total of about 1,963 acres. As the number of seasons under review is not large, no attempt has been made to calculate statistical relationships between figures of yield, rainfall and acreage, but the general picture which an analysis of the data presents should be of considerable interest to those interested in the Kenya coffee industry.
