Abstract
The Kenya White Clover (Trifolium semipi/ losum Fres.) IS an herbaceous legume indigenous to the highlands of Eastern Africa and South Arabia [8]. During the last few years, the legume has received considerable research attention with regards <to its suitability as a pasture component in the tropical and sub-tropical countries [2, 4, 5, 6, 9, 11, 13, 14]. The clover has been reported to occur in Kenya within the altitudinal range of 5,000- 10,000 ft. [2, 8]. Gillett [8] and t'Mannetje [15] described varieties within the species, while Bogdan [4] reported variability in seed colour and leaf markings.
