Abstract
Although the gian looper, Ascotis Setenaria reciprocaria, is no longer a serious threat to coffee, it is still sufficient importance to require attention. Its ecology in Kenya coffee plantations has been investigated, Indeed the giant looper is an ezample of pests for which chemical control measures have been devised before there was sufficient knowledge of its ecology and behavior in the field. Currently recommended insecticides against a pest can be made more effective when we know the behavior of the pest we are dealing with.
