Abstract
The Government of Kenya, with the assistance of the World Bank led consortium of donors, has agreed to implement the National Agricultural Research Project (NARP), designed to revitalize and strengthen agriculture and livestock research in Kenya. To achieve this, existing agricultural research centres have been organized into national and regional research. centres under the overall direction of the new Kenyan Agricultural Research Institute (KARl), responsible for research planning, management and training. KARl is a parastatal institute under the parent Ministry of Research, Science anj Technology.
