Abstract
One of the major hazards facing the development of agriculture in marginal lands is the irregularly distributed rainfall. The Overseas Food Corporation began large-scale mechanized agriculture in the Southern Province of Tanganyika in 1948, and in the actual area of operations the rainfall records are inadequate to assess the reliability of rainfall by the method of Glover and Robinson [1].
