Abstract
In March 1960 a four-year stocking rate trial was started on the Livestock Husbandry Experiment Unit, Nakyesasa, as a preliminary investigation into the animal/ grass relationship on unimproved secondary succession grazing in the long grass area of Buganda. The results from the first two years of the trial have been published (Harker and McKay, 1962; Harker, 1963) together with a description of the site and initial vegetation.
