Abstract
The limiting factors of plant growth associated with Soil acidity are partly due to the concentration Of AP+, H+,Mn2+, and 0a2+ ions in the Soil solution. Most of these detrimental factors be corrected through Hming 'Of the acid soils. But response to liming, even by leguminous crops, has been erratic (Abaruna et al. 1974, Elkins et al., 1976, Munns 1977, Olsen and Moe 1971, Stephenes 1967). this suggests that plant species and or varieties differ in their tolerance to Soil 'acidity
