Abstract
During 1985/86 several schemes to divert and spread seasonal flood waters from watercourses that are dry for most of the year were designed, laid out, and, as faras possible supervised by the "Yemeni” . This is believed to be the first time that anything like the" Yemeni" method of total flood diversion by massive earth dams ( " ogmas ") or partial flood diversion by stone and brushwood spurs ( " masha " ) has been carried out in Kenya.
