Abstract
The staffing position began to show a welcome improvement during the year, mainly due to the arrival of numbers of officers on technical aid terms and to local and overseas graduates entering the department The arrival of these additional officers not only made for more efficient disease control. in the field and the expanding work programme undertaken in the research laboratories but was in no small way responsible for the high morale of the staff of the Veterinary Department during the year. Whilst the overall disease position was very satisfactory there was rather a high incidence of foot-and-mouth disease during 1965. but it is most encouraging to be able to report that in eNery outbreak at least one or more foci of the disease was successfully typed. There were no outbreaks of other than types "0", "A" and "C" recorded or suspected.
