Abstract
This report is a record of the soil conditions which prevailed in the Estate at the time of the survey. It outlines seven soil units which not only differ in texture but also in drainage and depth. The soils are generally shallow with plinthite (murram) within 90 cm. They are also generally low in available phosphorus. Various points where observations were made are plotted on the soil map. These points should form appropriate sites for future reference and monitoring of the changes that may occur in the soil following development particularly under irrigation.
