Abstract
During the first three quarters of the year the staff of the Station was depleted by the absence oF leave for long periods of the Superintendent of Plantations, the Soil Chemist, the Physiologist, and the Botanist. With the return of the last two of these officers in December, 1931, unity was restored and, so far as the senior officers are concerned, will be preserved, save for the absence of the Geneticist, until March, 1933. The opportunity thus presented for co-ordinated work occurs only once during a period of three years, roughly speaking, and is correspondingly valuable, while each member of the staff is enabled to give full attention to his own share of the formidable list of investigations included in the five-year plan.
