Abstract
The normal methods of conserving herbage in temperate climates, silage making and haymaking are not usually practiced on Uganda farms. If there is any surplus grass during the growing season it is usually left in situ for subsequent use. This excess herbage in the dry condition is usually referred to as "standing hay".
