Abstract
The ladybird beetle, Chilocous nigripes Mader,were reared in the laboratory under temperature of 27±2°C and Relative Humidity of 75%.They were fed on coffee green scales, Coccus alpinus De Lotto.The incubation period was 7.4±O.11 days.There were three (3) larval instars; 1st, 2nd and 3rd ; a pre-pupal and a pupal stages which occupied a mean of 3.3±O.07,2.3±O.05, 2.8±O.06, 6.9±O.08 and 7.60.09 days, respectively.The adult ladybird beetle had a mean longevity of 291.0±1.14 days. The males and females had a longevity of 319.2±1.33 and 258.9±1.80 days, respectively.The females had a mean pre-oviposition period of 12.4±0.28 days.
