Abstract
The female genital tract of 32 normal cycling mature ewes of the Nigerian Dwarf Sheep were extracted and quantitatively studied. The results showed that there was a pronounced cyclical variation in the weight of the tracts during 'oestrous cycle. Most of the varies had ovulated by the 3rd day of heat with single ovulations being significantly higher than double ovulations. The major morphological and anatomical features of the female genital tract in this sheep ecotype during oestrous cycle were established.
