Abstract
The desirability of keeping farming cost accounts has been repeatedly emphasized by writers on agricultural economics. Yet one finds that many coffee planters either keep no books at all, or else keep their accounts in such a form that very little useful information can be extracted from them. Even those who maintain a proper system of book-keeping sometimes fail to appreciate the many ways in which the resulting figures may be made to yield valuable information on the economic aspects of estate policy.
