Abstract
The remarks made in my last report in regard to the staffing of the Department still hold, and the services rendered continue along the lines therein indicated. Every endeavour has been made to use the sanctioned appropriation to the best advantage by restricting to a minimum the amount spent on work which might be regarded as the least productive. The demands made upon the Department continue to increase to such an extent, and problems connected with production and the protection of the growing agricultural industry to such a degree, that it cannot be said that the establishment is adequate to cope with them. The principal staff changes and new appointments are shown in Appendix A.
