Abstract
Investigations into the infection of Trypanosoma (Nannomonas) congolense in the tsetse fly Glossina pallidipes were carried out at both the light and the electron microscopic levels, in an attempt to gain further knowledge on the invertebrate phase of the life cycle of!. (N.) congolense. This thesis describes the migration of!. (N.) congollmse in G. pallidipes and it attempts to explain various aspects, in the light of the present study, related to the infection of T. (~) congolense inG. pallidipes.
