Abstract
Heterotic effects, inbreeding depression and gene action for grain yield und its conponents were evaluated in different sorghun hybrids. Grain yield was shown to be under the control of significant doninnnce and epsistatic effects. Most of the yield conponents indicated significant heterotic effeets but the degree depended on the hybrid type. The degree of infireeding depression in grain yield and its conponents varied in different hybrids but was sufficiently high to cause such losses in yield that F1 hybDid crop was clearly indicated for connercial production purposes in sorghun. The relationship studies revealed no obvious relationship anong the conponents as the result lacked consistence anong the hybrids o
