Abstract
Kenya Agricultural Research has been involved in a process of mainstreaming gender since 1994 when the Gender Task Force was initiated. To achieve this end, capacity building through training is seen as a vital pillar. A training module, 'Gender in Agricultural Research and Extension', developed by KARI AD-RRC'S in collaboration with an external consultant has been implemented in most of the workshops. The module however has been undergoing regular reviews and adaptations suit the needs of each research center. Since 1997 KARI has held about fifteen (15) workshops reaching more than four hundred (400) researchers and extension officers drawn from fifteen different (15) research centers.
