Abstract
This descriptive account of Meliaceae of one East African state, Uganda, not only deals with taxonomy but also includes much information on the distribution and ecology of the indigenous species. A number of other species which have been introduced on a large scale are also dealt with. The family is an important one from the stand point of ecology and forestry in East Africa. Many species form the dominants of the rain forest which covers much of the country and
