Abstract
The search for pest non-chemical control agents has aSBumed greater importance in the recent years due to the increaainq cost of synthetic chemical pesticides and pollution problems. In addition, there are problems of out-break of secondary pests and toxic effect . on natural enemies (Varma, 1982). Biological control aims to manipulate other organisms (predators and pathogens\parasites) in an attempt to reduce pest numbers to economically acceptable levels (Horn, 1988 ). There has been a resurgence of interest in the use of pathogens as control agents, as part of a general movement toward integrated pest management and away from reliance on chemical pesticides (Dilip et al., 1991).
