Abstract
The behaviour and vectorial role of G. iongipennis in the transmission of trypanosomiasis to cattle in Galana ranch was studied. A sampling method was first evaluated by comparing several trap types and odours. The F3 trap, baited with acetone, octenol and p-cresol caught more than 12 times the control without odour, with an efficiency of about 25 %. No synergism or interference between acetone, octenol or p-cresol was evident from the tsetse catches .
