Abstract
Are we prepared to face facts? If so,we cannot deny that the general condition of coffee estates throughout the main growing areas has deteriorated during recent years. Whilst the importance of organised marketing as a safeguard to the producer in the sale of his crop is fully appreciated, it is considered that the value of any post-war organisation which may, in due course, be set up will be largely nullified if more attention is not given to problems affecting the maintenance of production. Many factors, the most important undoubted1y being finance, contribute to the difficulties of bringing about rapid improvements, but none should prevent :l clear picture being drawn of the actual requirements of the Industry if it is to Survive and maintain its place on the world's market.
