Abstract
It is generally accepted that one single insemi~ nation can provide the sperm necessary to fertilize all the eggs produced by a female tsetse during its long life. One of us (PINHAO, 1967) had many times the possibility to confirm this fact. But we had also the possibility to observe that if it is true that a previously mated female shows no. interest and usually resistes to a new copulation, this one is practically always consumated if the male is left with the female for a suficient period of time.
