Abstract
Addition of elemental sulphur appears to have similar effects as those of nitrogen on cowpea growth, except when sulphur is applied together with phosphorus. Significant cowpea yield increases 8re observed when P and S are applied together. This indicates that phosphorus and Sulphur may be. necessary for good cowpea growth on these two sites. This appears to agree with the original idea of this project that phosphorus and sulphur may be required in the successful production of cowpea, but nitrogen may not be required (see 1984 Annual Report).
