Abstract
The report describes the soil conditions of Tikondo Irrigation Scheme. The request for a soil survey as made by the District Land and Farm Management Officer, Kajiado district, to assess the suitability of soils of the scheme for irrigated agriculture. The scheme is irrigated with water from Tikondo spring. The survey area comprises 474ha. The fieldwork was carried out during the period June- September 1979. The Kimana Irrigation Scheme is located opposite the Tikondo Irrigation Scheme. They are separated by the road from 1oitokitok to Emali. The Kimana Irrigation Scheme is irrigated with water from the loitulelei stream, which has its source on the slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro
