Abstract
We publish below the scheme submitted by the millers to the producing interests. At the 35th meeting of the Kenya Board, held on 26th July, 1938, it was resolved that, while the Kenya Board was in sympathy with the principle of the amalgamation of milling interests and the centralization of milling, it was not prepared to consider the granting of a monopoly on the suggested basis of capitalization and without more adequate provision for a procedure share ln control. The scheme was subsequently considered by the East African Coffee Producers Committee at its 4th meeting, held in Kampala on 10th August, 1938, when the views expressed by the Kenya Board were endorsed by the Producers Committee. Accordingly the representatives of the millers advised that they would consider the question of a commercial amalgamation, without further negotiation with producing interests in connection with an exclusive licence for Kenya.-Ed., C.B.B.)
