Abstract
December has been a period of anxiety for the East African coffee producers. The full force of the Brazilian attack on the world's coffee markets, which was: launched in November by a reduction by 75 % of the export tax on coffee and the raising of exchange restrictions on all exported products, cannot yet be gauged with any certainty. All that is at present known is that the world price of all coffees has fallen by approximately 23%.
