Abstract
CATTLE recovered from contagious bovine pleuropneumonia (CBPP) are considered to be resistant to any method of challenge with Mycoplasma mycoides subspecies mycoides (M mycoides) (Hudson 1971), although sera from many of these animals do not contain circulating antibody as measured by the complement fixation (OF) test of CampbeH and Turner (1953) or the slide agglutination serum test (SAST) of Turner and Etheridge (963). N eveJ:1theless, it was decided to investigate the possibility that sem from these animals might confer passive immunity to CBPP.
