Abstract
A field trial of small-volume spraying for the control of apple scab was carried out in 1965 with experimental equipment using high speed air to atomize the liquid into droplets with a volume median diameter of 60 microns (Morgan and Russell, 1966). Five small-volume applications of dilute do dine acetate or captain at 50 gal/acre gave almost the same control of scab as five sprays of the same concentration of fungicide at 200 gal/acre applied by an automatic machine.
