Abstract
Political instability, poor infrastructure, weak institutions and environmental degradation continue to pose development challenges to many countries in Sub-Saharan Mrica. In addition, rapid population growth, recurrent droughts and poor agricultural performance have contributed to chronic food shortages (UNDP, 1996). In general, this scenario creates the need to explore means of increasing food, and in particular, to understand maize supply in Kenya.
