Abstract
The moth Lechriolepis basirufa is native to Kenya and appears to be a potentially serious threat to exotic softwoods, although so far it is only recorded from the Highlands. It has a fairly wide host range of indigenous trees and shrubs but has adapted to the commercially valuable imported softwoods. Studies were therefore undertaken at Muguga in the hope of discovering an effective method of control.
