Abstract
The contribution of socio-economics is mainly in stages (ii) and (v). In order to identify and describe the Land Utilization Types (LUTS) (existing and alternative) in a survey area, KSS studies the socio-economic attributes of these LUTs that have a marked influence on production. Together with some agronomic factors, these distinct factors are what are referred to as key attributes of LUTS. These are; produce, capital intensity, labour intensity, farm power, technical know how, farm size, land tenure, farm income and price structure. Depending on the situation, other attributes of LUTS could be included.
