Abstract
Trypanosomosis is a serious, often fatal, parasitic disease of man and livestock and imposes a major constraint on livestock production and general agricultural development of vast areas of potentially highly productive land in Africa. The disease is caused by flagellated protozoa belonging to the family Trypanosomatidae, of the Genus Trypanosoma. Several species of trypanosomes occur as blood and tissue parasites in a wide variety of animals.
