Abstract
Relatively little research work has been reported on tropical pasture grasses compare to temperate pasture grasses. Tropical pasture research has been carried out in the widely different environmental conditions of Australia, the Indian sub-continent, Eastern and Southern Africa and the West Indies. The grasses in all of these regions have a rapid growth rate in the wet seasons and little or no growth during the later parts of the wet seasons and at the onset of the dry seasons.
