Abstract
Sir, - Mycoplasma mycoides var. mycoides (M. mycoides) has frequently been isolated from kidneys of cattle infected with contagious bovine pleuropneumonia (C.B.P.P.). Davies, Masiga, Shifrine & Read, 1968; Gilbert, Davies, Read & Turner, 1970; Windsor, Masiga & Read, 1972; Stone, Masiga & Read, 1969; Masiga & Read, 1971.) The presence in the urine of the galactan of M. mycoides was demonstrated by Gourlay and Palmer (1965), but they were unable to isolate M. mycoides from the urine of the same animals.
