Abstract
When the trees are in reasonably good heart pruning should be carried out as soon as the crop is off,but where general debilitation is severe,as a result of drought and crop strain, pruning might be delayed for a few weeks to allow reserves to be built up from foliage grown in the short rains. In eastern districts the prospect of an early end to harvest should make it possible to fit in this refinement of the normal procedure.
