Abstract
A comprehensive account of the phosphatic manuring of wheat in Kenya appeared in the October, 1941 (Vol. VII, 1'. 77), issue of the East African Agricultura1 Journal. This account deaft fully with the special requirements of different wheat soils; how super• phosphate could suitably be wholly or largely replaced by the much cheaper forms such as Seychelles phosphatic guano or finely ground bone meal and stressed the need for finely ground materials and for strip applications in close contact with the seed. Amounts and mixtures of phosphatic fertilizers were suggested for different soil types, but only a brief reference was then made to later applications and the adoption of a programme for phosphatic manuring.
