Abstract
A survey of ectomycorrhizal fungi was made in 10 pine plantations and two arboreta in Tanzania. Over 20 species of fungi known to form ectomycorrhizae with pines were identified. The main species were Thelephora terrestris, Scleroderma dictyosporum, S. luleus, Suillus granulatus, Heheloma crustuliniforr'1(, and Lycoperdon perlatum. The fungi seemed to be well adapted to highland cond1tions but did not develop well in the hot and dry coastal plain.
