Abstract
A very dark grey brown gravelly sandy clay 10Dm overlying very dark grey clay with intermittent coarser material. This soils is encountered in depression areas and on the alluvial fan close to the river. The depressions appear to be old river channels which are now covered with alluvium and colluvium. The soils are seasonally waterlogged due to incursion of run off water and imperfect drainage. Associate of Sail 9 in the Songhor is perhaps the Ainomotua sandy clay loam.
