Abstract
The ODA is allocating £1.983 million over four years to strengthen KARI's institutional and research capabilities in the field of Crop Protection. The Project aims to create a sustainable, multidisciplinary approach to crop protection research within KARl. This will be achieved by strengthening resources, determining research priorities and revitalizing research. A new Pest Management Unit will integrate pest management research programmes covered by the Project. Part of its responsibility is a nationwide Farm Survey and Information Review to determine short-term research priorities specifically aimed at the problems of small-scale farming systems and smallholders.
