Abstract
In recent months many out turns have been reported upon adversely by the Liquoring Department of the Coffee Marketing Board because of the presence of "pales" in the roasted bean sample. These pales may easily be picked out of a sample of roasted beans by virtue of the fact that they are a yellowish buff colour and stand out against the dark, chocolate colored background presented by the normal roasted beans.
