Abstract
This paper presents the findings of the 1983 Estate management Survey.Comparisons are I drawn between various estate categories with regard to the management practices employed, level of input usage, coffee productivity and coffee quality. Significant differences between irrigated and non-irrigated estates in terms of fertilizer and fungicide usage were found, which ultimately led to disparities in coffee yield. The study concludes that there is considerable potential for increasing the overall level of estate productivity via the adoption of recommended practices.
