Abstract
A coffee plant requires fertilizers from time to time. These fertilizers can be of organic or inorganic origin. Fertilizers of organic origin are generally referred to as manures.To ascertain the actual fertilizer needs of a plant we need to do soil and leaf analysis.This analysis can also enable us to know the type of fertilizer to use, the rate to apply and the mineral status of the soil in general.This analysis service is offered freely by the Coffee Research Foundation once the soils are sampled as required by the farmer or with the assistance of field staff of the departments of Agriculture and Co-operative Development.
