Abstract
Investigations .into the compositions and feeding values of local animal foodstuffs have been carried out for the last nine years at Mpwapwa. The results of such work are of enormous importance in planning and developing future animal industry progress and, when war demands that all local resources should be utilized so that maximum production is attained, it is necessary that the gap between the research worker and the practical farmer should be bridged as quickly as possible. This article therefore reports the results of recent investigations and indicates how the foodstuffs can be best utilized by the farmer.
