East African Agricultural Research Station
Abstract
The East African Agricultural Research Station and the Imperial College of Tropical Agriculture, Trinidad, are the only representatives of the proposed chain of Imperial agricultural research stations the function of which was laid down in the recommendations of the Imperial Agricultural Research Conference, I927. The policy of the East African Agricultural Research Station, based on the recommendations of that Conference, * is directed towards the solution of the major agricultural problems of East Africa, research work of a fundamental and long-range character being its primary function. This policy, which also provides for the undertaking of special investigations as circumstances demand and as means permit, is designed to supplement and reinforce the research work of the East African Agricultural Departments by undertaking investigations of a more prolonged nature than such departments can normally be expected to undertake. Advisory and teaching duties are not part of the Station's functions.
