Abstract
Seed treatment with Rhizoctol (10 percent methyl arsenic sulphide) or Rhizoctol Combi (10 percent methyl arsenic sulphide plus 5 per cent 4 - benzoquinone - N' - benzoyl-hydrazone oxine) at rates between 0.8 percent and 3.0 percent of seed weight in methyl cellulose sticker (pelleting), gave good protection of Pinus patula seeds against germination bed losses in Kenya highland nurseries. Rhizoctol Combi, applied to P. patula at rates greater than 1 percent of seed weight, gave evidence of phytotoxicity.
