Abstract
For the past five years the author has been carrying out a comparative study of the food habits of six species of wild ungulates occurring in the Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda. The species under study are the hippopotamus (Hippopotamus amphibills) the buffalo (Syncerus c. caffer), the waterbuck (Kobus de/assa), the topi (Damalisclis korrigum jimela), the Uganda kob (Adenota kob thomasi) and the warthog (Phacochoerlls aethiopiclIs). These are the dominant species of the area, together withthe elephant (Loxodonta a/ricana).
