Abstract
The Mbulu highlands referred to in this paper stretch approximately between latitude 3 ° 45' and 4° 20' south of the Equator and longitude 35° 20' and 35° 40' east of Greenwich. Endabash and Bashanet are respectively at the northern and southern ends of the area which is bounded by the Rift Valley to the east and south, the Yaida Valley to the west with the southern limit of volcanic efflata from the Ngorongoro Highlands forming the northern boundary. This covers about 800 square miles of country.
