Abstract
Drought management is a core issue in more than 80% of Kenya's land, which is classified as Arid and Semi-arid Lands (ASAL). These areas are characterised by unpredictable climatic conditions, livestock rustling, food insecurity and low household income. Most of the papers in this symposium have critically attempted to analyse and evaluate different strategies of achieving sustainable livestock production by encouraging wider adoption of technologies and knowledge in the affected area.
